06/07/2005

HAYS, KS -- Rick Fairless, one of the stars of the Discovery Channel's Biker Buildoff show, will indirectly help Fort Hays State University's Virtual College raise funds for scholarships and faculty awards.

A raffle conducted through area merchants will have as prizes an autographed hat, two autographed Rick Fairless Stokers T-shirts and a matted, framed poster of Fairless.

Tickets cost $5 each, or two for $9, three for $12, four for $15 and six for $20.

The Virtual College is the division of the university that oversees distance education operations through the Internet, interactive television, DVD and CD-ROM courses.

The drawing will take place in the lobby of the Virtual College, in Forsyth Library on the FHSU campus, at noon on June 30. All tickets for each prize will be placed in a container and one winner per item will be drawn. A person can win multiple items, which will be delivered to the winner free of charge.

Each item will have its own drawing. Ticket purchasers may enter as many times as they wish by designating which drawing their tickets should go into.
