HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's Small Business Development Center and Hutchinson Community College are offering a televised session on the rural export initiative Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The rural export initiative is presented by U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Commercial Service. The seminar will focus on marketing, structuring business transactions, E-commerce techniques and managing export operations. The seminar originated at Hutchinson Community College and will be broadcast to selected sites in Colby, Dodge City, Garden City, Hays and Liberal.
Sessions include such topics as exporting agricultural products; Kansas trade services; export documentation and shipping; financing exports for Kansas; international methods of payment and assessing your company's capability to export.
Presenters of the sessions include George Lavid, manager of U.S. Department of Commerce, Wichita; Marisa Morales, senior marketing manager, Vanguard Industries, McPherson; Michael Fitzmorris, executive director of the International Business Research Connection, University of Kansas; and Jean Fitzgibbon, business development officer of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, Chicago, IL.
