HAYS, KS -- Dr. Janice Unruh Davidson, Fort Hays State University associate professor of nursing, was inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners July 28 at the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners 16th Annual National Conference in Orlando, FL.
The selection process for the FAANP requires sponsorship by at least two nurse practitioners, one of whom must already be a recognized FAANP. The goals of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners fellows are to recognize nurse practitioners who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare practice, research, education or policy, who have developed a leadership program and who have developed a mentorship program.
Davidson will represent the United States on the International Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nursing Network committee of the International Congress of Nursing. The committee will convene later this summer in Ireland on the nurse practitioner policy.
