Sky to be watched after FHSU annual picnic

HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's Astronomy Club invites all students, faculty, staff and the public to come and view the sky after the annual back-to-school picnic.

The sky watching will take place at the newly refurbished Albertson Hall Observatory and the observation deck on top of Tomanek Hall at 9:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20.

The FHSU student observatory directors will have open telescope time, weather permitting, from 9-11 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 1. After Oct. 1 the open telescope times will change from 9-11 p.m. to 8-10 p.m. These open telescope times will start the week of Aug. 27 and are in effect when FHSU classes are in session.
