HAYS, KS -- Incoming college students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to help Fort Hays State University kick off the school year by attending the annual back-to-school picnic from 5-7 p.m., Aug. 20, in the Quad.

This year at FHSU a new tradition begins with AugustFest 2001 -- a series of events and activities in the first two weeks of classes to welcome all new and returning students, faculty and staff. The annual back-to-school picnic is just one of the many events that will occur during these two weeks.

The University Activities Board will sponsor live music by the Blue Healers, a classic rock and blues band. Many other events including wax hands and student leadership organization booths will be available.
