HAYS, KS -- Eight Kansas locations, including Fort Hays State University, will be linked via interactive TV to Congressman Jerry Moran's district-wide farm bill forum.
The 90-minute meeting will allow people from across the First Congressional District of Kansas to discuss the next farm bill with their congressman and leaders of the House Agriculture Committee.
FHSU's Memorial Union will host this interactive event without charge in its Stouffer Lounge on May 23 at 7:30 a.m.
This step toward inclusion of constituents in the democratic process by Moran, however, is being taken one step further. Those unable to attend will still be able to view the proceedings by means of a webcast.
FHSU's Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technology will be negotiating the broadcast of this meeting on the Internet. Persons who wish to see but not interact with the proceedings may log on to www.fhsu.edu/ctelt/2001fb at 7:30 a.m. on May 23.
