HAYS, KS -- Five of the six students sent to represent Fort Hays State University at the annual American Institute of Graphic Artists Competition returned with scholarship awards.
"We had the strongest program of any of the competing schools," said FHSU student observer Bill Elder, Bison senior. FHSU took six of the eight scholarship awards offered.
Travis Schlitter, Hays senior, won a $300 scholarship for his first-place winning portfolio and Nun-Cheen Lee, Malaysian senior, won a $250 scholarship for his second-place winning portfolio and $100 scholarship for winning the Speakers Choice Award.
Amber Hampton, Ulysses senior, won a $150 scholarship for her third-place winning portfolio. Mason Magyar, Hutchinson senior, and Brent Fernandez, Norton junior, both won $100 scholarships for their honorable mentions.
