Collins to present public lecture at Sternberg Museum

HAYS, KS -- Joe Collins, adjunct curator of herpetology at Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History, will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 17, in the Engel Education Center at Sternberg Museum.

He will present a lecture titled "Music in Nature: The Songs of Amphibians." The lecture is free to the public and members of the Sternberg Museum Association receive free entrance to the museum.

Collins recently retired from the University of Kansas, where he holds the title emeritus herpetologist at the University of Kansas Natural History Museum. He has published more than 200 scholarly articles and 23 books.

In 1996, Governor Graves designated Collins the "Wildlife Author Laureate of Kansas."
