HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's Department of Nursing announced the winners of the Leora B. Stroup Awards at the nursing Pre-Commencement Ceremonies held at the Beach-Schmidt Performing Arts Center on Dec. 15, 2000.

The On-Campus Bachelor of Science in Nursing Award for outstanding clinical performance, community involvement, and academic achievement was bestowed upon Julie Ann (Moeder) Brull of Hays. Brull is also a graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School, Hays.

The Outreach BSN Award for outstanding clinical performance, community involvement, and academic achievement was bestowed upon Mary Lynn Wallace, registered nurse, Elkhart.

The Stroup Awards have been given to outstanding graduates since 1993. The winners, selected by the nursing faculty, are announced during the December and May Nursing Awards Ceremonies.
