HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's Leigh Huser, Garden City junior, attended the New York Film Academy, New York City, during June 2000.

The New York Film Academy offers 4-week, 6-week, 8-week and year-round classes. Huser participated in the 4-week class focusing on editing, directing, lighting and shooting film.
"In the academy we learned how to shoot film cameras, in depth lighting, edit film and manually splice and tape film," said Huser.
Huser first became interested in film directing and editing in seventh grade and with the support of her parents has taken a huge step towards her dream by attending the New York Film Academy. Participating in the film academy helped Huser identify her interests as editing film in movies, television shows or music videos.
"New York altogether was wonderful. Getting to participate in the industry, seeing tons of famous people and meeting all the students from different countries would have to be just a few of my highlights," said Huser.
