HAYS, KS --- Fort Hays State University's Dr. Rager H. Moore IV, director of choral activities, has announced that the Hays Community Choir is recruiting for its much- anticipated, end-of-the-year "Choral Glory" concert.
The performance, titled "When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd," a piece by Paul Hindemith with poetry by Walt Whitman, is scheduled for 3 p.m. on April 29 in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall. The concert will feature the Hays Community Choir, FHSU Concert Choir and Fort Hays Singers and will be accompanied by the Hays Symphony Orchestra.
Practice begins at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, in Malloy Hall room 115. Practices will be on Monday evenings in Malloy Hall. The week before the concert additional practices will be in Beach/Schmidt on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
