Shapiro to present musical instruments from around the world at Sternberg Museum

HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's Dr. Martin Shapiro, professor of music, will present "A World of Music: Musical Instruments from Other Cultures" at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Sternberg Museum of Natural History.

The program is open to the public and will include demonstrations of musical instruments from around the world with an emphasis on instruments created from natural materials.

This musical program is a first in the series of talks and other public programs scheduled in conjunction with Sternberg Museum's new hands-on exhibit, "Music TRASHformed: Musical Instruments from Recycled Materials." This exhibit opens Jan. 20 and runs through May 6.
