Recitals to take place at Beach/Schmidt

HAYS, KS -- Two upcoming recitals will be featured at Fort Hays State University's Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center.

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, Dr. Shun Lin Chou, assistant professor of piano at Southwest Missouri State University, will perform a guest piano recital.

Chou will perform music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Robert Muczynski, Claude Debussy and Franz Liszt.

He has appeared internationally in concerto, solo, and chamber performances. He has been a first-place winner in numerous piano competitions and has performed to critical acclaim with more than a dozen orchestras.

Chou has recently completed an around-the-world recital tour with appearances in Europe. The tour included performances in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.

At 8 p.m. on Feb. 8, the FHSU Department of Music will present a faculty recital by Kristin Pisano, instructor of music.

Pisano will perform on clarinet with accompaniment by Dr. Junghwa Lee, assistant professor of music.
Tickets for the recitals are $6 for general admission, $4 for senior citizens and children under 18, and free for FHSU students with a student ID card.
