FHSU Crops Judging Team brings home a victory

HAYS, KS --- The Fort Hays State University Crops Judging Team brought home a third-place victory from the Regional American Society of Agronomy Contest that was held on Oct. 28 in Manhattan.

They also competed in the National ASA Contest in Kansas City on Nov. 14. The three separate parts of each contest were crop and seed identification, seed analysis and grain grading.

The team was coached by Dr. Bob Stephenson, associate professor of agriculture, and consisted of Kristi Darnall, Palco senior; Andy Zweygardt, St. Francis senior; and Toni Wesley, Lake City senior. Alternates were Ryan Schultz, St. Francis senior, and Jeff McCaskey, Isabel junior.
