Cathedral Concert

HAYS, KS --- Fort Hays State University's Department of Music will sponsor its 18th annual Cathedral Concert at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria on Thursday, Dec. 7.

This year's concert will feature the FHSU Concert Choir, Fort Hays Singers, Hays Community Choir and the Hays High School Chamber Singers. Each choir will present a portion of the program until the end when they all will combine to sing carols. The audience will also sing carols throughout the concert.

The FHSU choirs will be directed by Dr. Rager Moore, assistant professor of music, and the Hays High Chamber Singers will be directed by Johnny Matlock. The FHSU Percussion Ensemble; trumpeter Bradley Dawson, assistant professor of music; clarinetist Kristen Pisano, instructor of music; organist Thomas Meagher, Hays graduate; violinists Dr. Ferenc Cseszko, asistant professor of music, and Marcela Cseszko will assist with the performance.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m., but the public is recommended to arrive early to get good seats, for this is traditionally a standing room only event. Additional information can be obtained from Moore at (785) 628-4258 or
