HAYS, KS -- As changes continue to happen at Fort Hays State University's Forsyth Library, the staff has decided to hold some special events to celebrate the library's newly extended hours along with the end of the fall 2000 semester.
On Monday, Dec. 4, Forsyth Library will hold "Midnight Madness" from 10 p.m. to midnight. During the two-hour period, prices for all items on the Coffee Bar will be reduced. All coffee, cider, cappuccino, creams, and teas will be half price and from 11 p.m. to midnight a small cup of coffee will be free.
Drawings will also be held throughout the two hours. Prizes for the drawings will be provided by Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar, the FHSU Endowment Association, Corner Book Center, G. Willikers Deli and Bar, Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant, Montana Mike's, Northwestern Office Suppliers, Sternberg Museum of Natural History, The University Bookstore, Dillons, Carlos O'Kelly's, Expeditions Restaurant, The Golden Q, Greek's Pizzeria, Lomato's Pizza, the Mall Cinema, Sip 'N' Spin, Taco Shop and Forsyth Library.
Also, Forsyth Library is holding a "Food for Fines" food drive until Dec. 17. Each canned good or nonperishable item donated equals $1 off a fine. This includes existing and current fines. However, it does not include lost-item fees. Fines need to be paid at the Reserve Counter. All canned items will be donated to the Community Assistance Center.
