2000 Kansas Wildlife Art Series and "Discover Kansas--Prairie Dogs"

HAYS, KS --- "Discover Kansas--Prairie Dogs" will be presented by Dr. Jerry Choate, director of the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 in conjunction with the Kansas Wildlife exhibition.

The annual Kansas Wildlife Art Series Exhibit, hosted by Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum, is currently open and will run through Dec. 17.

The official Kansas state art series will feature national artists representing Kansas wildlife. This year's 11 finalist paintings and 12 previous years' winners of the competition will be on display.

Artists' renditions of Kansas wildlife will be on display to the public for the normal museum entrance fee of $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. Admission to Choate's presentation is only $1.

The Sternberg Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 1- 9 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays.
