New coffee bar offered at Forsyth Library

By Stephanie Romberger -- Do you ever just need that caffeine rush to wake you up for the day? Forsyth Library is now offering coffee, cappuccino and tea to everyone at Fort Hays State University.

"Overall I believe the coffee bar helps to make the library a friendlier environment and a place where students can feel comfortable to study," said John Ross, Forsyth Library director.

The library is offering several different flavors of coffee, including 100 percent Colombian, Colombian decaf, Hawaiian Hazelnut, and Irish Cream. Cappuccino varieties include Honey Hazelnut, Creame D-Irlande, and Chocolate Macadamia Nut.

Tea flavors include Lively Lemon, Green Tea, Simply Lemon, Earl Grey's Best, Misty Mint, Apple Blossom, Refreshing Mint, Enchanting Moments, Raspberry Elegance, Spicy Orange Delight, Cinnamon Sensation, and Cranberry Apple Jubilee. The flavors will change about every four months.

Coffee and tea prices are 65 cents per 12-oz. cup, or, with a $5 punch card, the ninth cup is free. Cappuccino prices are 80 cents per 12-oz. cup. The ninth cup of cappuccino is also free with a $5 punch card.

On Fridays, faculty and staff can receive a free cup of coffee, cappuccino, or tea from 3-4 p.m.

"So far the student usage of the coffee bar has been high especially in the mornings before class and when the weather has been cold," said Ross.
