HAYS, KS --- Fort Hays State University's Memorial Union will host "Safe Instead of Sorry: Building Bridges for Safer Schools and Communities," conference to be held on Oct. 17.
The conference seeks to inform people on how communities and agencies can work together for a safer and healthier community, learn what is being done to address school, community and campus safety, learn about crisis preparedness and response and learn what everyone needs to know about risk and protective factors.
Everyone is invited to attend the conference and hear keynote speakers Kevin Dwyer, Larry Sullivan and Eileen Weiner-Dwyer.
The day will begin with registration from 8 to 8:30 a.m., followed by Dwyer and Sullivan, who will open the conference. Lunch will be provided to applicable persons and activities are expected to close around 4 p.m. that evening.
The cost, which includes lunch, is $35 for those who register before Nov. 1. Late or on-site registration, lunch not included, will cost $55. Student registration is $15 with lunch and $8 without. A continuing education processing fee for nurses will be $5.
