HAYS, KS --- Finding and recruiting board members for non-profit organizations is the topic of a training session on Oct. 12 from Fort Hays State University's Kansas Small Business Development Center.
Topics being covered include current trends in volunteerism, identifying factors that motivate volunteers to serve, techniques to identify and recruit board volunteers and important factors in involving volunteers.
Ron Wilson, director of the Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development at Kansas State University, and Ailleen Cray, director of United Way for Riley County, will be the trainers.
The session is from 7 -- 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Ellis County Meeting Room, 601 Main, Hays.
The registration fee is $10 for the first person from each organization and $5 for each additional member. The registration deadline is Oct. 6. Registrations will be taken by the KSBDC, 109 W. 10th St., Hays, KS 67601. The phone number is (785) 628-6786.
