Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority returns to Fort Hays State University
05/07/2014

Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority -- known more familiarly as "Tri Sigma" -- will recolonize at Fort Hays State University in spring 2015.

The FHSU Panhellenic community hosted an extension presentational process rooted in campus partnership and open dialog, and Tri Sigma approached the extension committee to participate in this effort. The positive results of the extension presentation were the outcome of the commitment of a full Tri Sigma team and area alumnae who supported the efforts on campus.

The Tri Sigma experience at FHSU will be focused on the Essential Sigma member development program, designed to create a values-centered environment that nurtures women and provides them with the tools they need to succeed in all aspects of life. Personal empowerment, purposeful philanthropic and community service, meaningful sisterhood experiences, and an environment rooted in its tradition of human dignity are hallmarks of every Tri Sigma chapter. Tri Sigma shares FHSU's commitment to a values-focused experience for all members of the fraternity and sorority community and is proud to return to this vibrant, dynamic campus.

"Our sorority community is excited to continue to grow, and we believe Tri Sigma will be an excellent addition to our family," said Jacob Ternes, coordinator of student involvement and Greek life for FHSU.

The innovative Colony Program is focused on strategic student success outcomes, and will be adapted to meet specific FHSU community and colony needs. Tri Sigma offers a full menu of developmental leadership programs, an award-winning member development experience and a focus on student success through campus partnership.

"Our Alpha Gamma chapter had a wonderful history at Fort Hays," said Brittany Parrott, Tri Sigma's extension coordinator. "We are eager to engage with our amazing alumnae and build upon the university's strong campus community with a sisterhood focused on friendship, character and conduct. We look forward to being 'Forward Thinking. World Ready.' alongside this community."
