HAYS, KS -- Is that decorative Power Cat car tag weighing down the front of your car? Got a Jayhawk up there cramping your style? Is a Husker dragging you down?
If so, then come to TailGreat 2000 and let FHSU President Edward H. Hammond bolt a Tiger to your car.
A giveaway of 500 decorative car tags featuring the new FHSU mascot will begin at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, prior to the Tiger football game against Missouri Western University. Game time is 7 p.m.
The decorative tags will be given away at the booth west of the TailGreat area on Lewis Drive, behind Lewis Field Stadium.
The giveaway ends at 6 p.m. or when the last tag is bolted on and driven away, whichever comes first. "We are more than willing to replace your Willie the Wildcat with the newly designed Tiger," said Kent Steward, director of University Relations.
Steward and other FHSU administrators will be on hand to remove any old decorative plate and replace it with the new Tiger. The administrators include President Hammond, Alumni and Governmental Relations Director Debra Prideaux, Joey Linn, director of Admissions, Diane Pfeifer, interim assistant vice president for Student Affairs/Registrar, and Tonja Vallin, academic affairs marketing specialist.
Steward said that Hammond will not be able to be there the full time, but will be on hand for a good portion of it and will be stripping off those old tags and putting on new ones.
"We're giving away 500 of these decorative tags to get our new Tiger out in front of people and get Tiger pride on the road," said Steward.
