FHSU professor wins top regional honor for collegiate business education

HAYS, KS --- Dr. Jim Rucker, professor of computer and information systems at Fort Hays State University, recently was named as the top business educator in a region that includes nine states and two Canadian provinces.

Rucker was selected as the Collegiate Business Teacher of the Year Award by the Mountain-Plains Business Education Association at its convention in June.

The association comprises Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota,Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The award is a recognition for significant contributions to the field of business education through teaching, service and research.

Rucker now qualifies to compete for the national teaching award at the annual National Business Education Association Convention to be held in Atlanta, GA, in April 2001.
