HAYS, KS -- While at a basic law enforcement certification class at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, Fort Hays State University Police Officer Phillip Woodford was awarded the Fitness Award. To receive the award, a person must cover 100 miles on foot either walking or running.

Woodford spent May 22-June 27 at the state-mandated law enforcement training class. All officers are required to get 40 hours of additional training per year.
