HAYS, KS -- "Bodytext," an exhibition of art exploring body casting, text and personal narrative, will open with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Fort Hays State University's Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art in Rarick Hall.
The opening was scheduled in conjunction with the annual Hays Gallery Walk, said Linda Ganstrom, associate professor of art at FHSU. Ganstrom and Sondra Schwetman, assistant professor of art, are curators of the exhibition. "Bodytext" is an extension of graduate school grants awarded to Ganstrom and Schwetman.
"Bodytext" will remain on view at Moss-Thorns through Sept. 22.
In addition to works by Ganstrom and Schwetman, the exhibition includes works by Karrie Simpson-Voth, assistant professor of art, and FHSU students Tenille Blair, Branson senior, and Shannon Calhoun, Hays senior.
Other artists represented include Sarah Nix Ginn, Tonya Hartman, Audry L.J. Herber, Donna Meeks, Gail Siptak and Conrad Snider.
