Two free music recitals this summer

HAYS, KS -- Two recitals are planned for this summer in Fort Hays State University's Palmer Recital Hall, located in Malloy Hall.

Both are free and open to the music-loving public and both begin at 7 p.m.

Bridget Gish, Overland Park senior, 7645 W. 40th Terrace, will perform on the violin on Friday, July 21. She will be accompanied by Amanda Asher, Great Bend senior, on the piano. Gish will play "Romanian Folk Dances" by Bartok, Rachmaninoff's "Nocalise" and other works by Schubert and Mozart.

Shannon Demuth, Hays senior, will sing soprano on Sunday, July 23, to music by Bellini, Schumann, Faure and Menotti. Demuth will later be accompanied on a Handel piece by her sister Sarah, Hays freshman, on the violin. The Demuth sisters will be accompanied by Dr. Tamara Fudge, assistant professor of music, on the piano.
