HAYS, KS -- Jayson K. Taylor, assistant professor of art at Fort Hays State University, has works in two separate juried exhibitions, both running through June 2005.

" Meditation on the Buddha" is a fiber-based piece that was accepted into the Hays Arts Council's 36th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition and received a cash merit award. A variation of the same piece received another cash merit award at the Wichita Center for the Art's Fiber Directions 2005, a juried exhibition that focused on different uses or techniques of the fiber arts.

Two additional pieces, "Waiting for Blue" and "Meditation on the Kalachakra Mandala," were also included in the exhibition.
