HAYS, KS -- Three Fort Hays State University faculty members have been recognized for endeavors outside the classroom.
Dr. Eileen Deges Curl, professor of nursing and director of graduate nursing studies, has been awarded a grant for $31,569 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This "Rural Kansas Advanced Nursing Education Traineeships" grant provides stipends and a book allowance for graduate students with an emphasis in the family nurse practitioner, nursing administration and nursing education areas.
Dr. Ernst Hintz, assistant professor of modern languages, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Kansas Humanities Council.
Gladys Swindler, instructor of computer and information systems, has published an article titled "Objectivism to Constructivism: Transforming the Model" in the Journal of Educational Computing, Design and Telecommunications, Vol. 1, Issue 1, Spring 2000.
