HAYS, KS -- Natural Science on the Great Plains is the theme of an educator workshop to be held July 24-27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sternberg Museum of Natural History. Fort Hays State University will sponsor a two credit hour class that meshes inquiry-based learning with content knowledge and activities to teach natural science topics.

Participants will tour the museum, learn how to incorporate museum artifacts and concepts into their classrooms and investigate classroom resources from the Wildlife and Parks Commission. They will also tour an outdoor classroom site to learn how to build a site at their schools.

A follow up session will be held 9 a.m.-noon on October 28.
