Beloit High School, Stockton High School and Scott City High School were among the winners in the Standard class of the High Plains Rally sponsored by Fort Hays State University's Department of Technology Studies and North Central Kansas Technical College. Dighton High School and Hays High School also won in the Experimental class.

The Spirit Award was given to Great Bend High School. "The Team Spirit Award was given to the team that exhibited a positive attitude throughout the event, working hard to solve problems and supporting their drivers," said Joseph Chretien, assistant professor of technology studies.

The race steward this year was Kevin Vering, NCKTC instructor.

"This year there were more cars over 60 laps or approaching 60 laps than ever before," said Chretien.
