Fourteen shooters on Fort Hays State University's shooting team competed in the 44th annual Association of College Unions International National Clay Target Competition in San Antonio, Texas. The team received the runner-up team trophy.
"We competed in the largest of the divisions, Division 2, throughout the competition with more than 30 schools," said Dr. Duane Shepherd, associate professor of health and human performance and shooting team coach. "FHSU racked up a top-five team placing in each of the six events with numerous individual honors."
The members of the FHSU shooting team were among 520 college participants from 57 colleges across the nation. Students competed in several clay target venues: 5-stand, sporting clays, American skeet, American trap, international skeet and international trap.
