Dr. Amy Young, instructor of modern languages at Fort Hays State University, recently attended two conferences.

Young traveled to Milwaukee, WI, to attend the 2005 German Studies Association Conference. She presented "Of Racecar Drivers and Rogues: Lesbian Masculinity in the Weimar Republic."

Young also attended the Women in German Conference in Carrollton, KY.

"I co-chaired a panel on how German departments can effectively work with administration," she said.

At that conference, Young was elected to the Steering Committee for Women in German. She will serve a three-year term.
