Moss-Thorns to host Christensen Exhibition

Exploring social, political, visual and moral events, the Todd Christensen Exhibition sponsored by Creative Arts Society at Fort Hays State University will open with an artist's reception from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 29, in the Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art.

The exhibit will coincide with the annual Spring Gallery Walk.

Christensen, assistant professor of art at Highlands University, Las Vegas, N.M., is a visiting artist whose mixed media artwork deals with his observations of the world and of social interactions.

"I create a lot of work out of book covers and book pages," said Christensen. "I tend to use hundreds of smaller pieces to create a larger overall shape, similar to how life is composed of the people around me."

The Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art is located in Rarick Hall, room 102. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the Department of Art and Design at 785-628-4247 or visit www.fhsu/artanddesign.
