Forsyth Library holds 'Food for Fines' food drive
11/14/2005

'Tis the season for giving and Fort Hays State University's Forsyth Library is leading the way with its annual Food for Fines food drive from Nov. 1 to Dec. 23.

For each canned food item donated, the library will forgive $1 in overdue fines. Expired or damaged food items will not be accepted, and the fines cannot be used to clear fees from lost or damaged items.

All food is donated to the Community Assistance Center and to local churches to help stock their food pantries.

Last Christmas, the CAC gave out over 400 food baskets and is expecting the number to increase this year.
