The Computing and Telecommunication Center HelpDesk Web site on the Fort Hays State University site has been selected by the Association for Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education (ACUTA) as a "Member Site to See" for the fourth quarter of 2005.
The university's CTC HelpDesk is being recognized for its particularly effective Internet site for this quarter, said Pat Scott, communications manager for ACUTA, in a news release announcing the award.
The topic of this quarter's competition was "Supporting Student Use of Technology." The CTC HelpDesk provides technology support for FHSU.
"The school's site (www.fhsu.edu/ctc/helpdesk/) was selected based on the criteria of content delivery, timeliness, ease of use, accessibility and graphic appeal," said Anna Hines, chair of the ACUTA Web Site Recognition Task Force.
The FHSU site will be featured on the ACUTA home page (http://www.acuta.org) after Dec. 1, and the university will be recognized for this achievement in the December issue of ACUTA e-News and at ACUTA's Annual Conference in San Diego, CA, from July 23-27, 2006.
Addressing voice, data and video communications needs for higher education, ACUTA serves nearly 800 institutions of higher education and 2,000 communications technology professionals from across the United States and Canada as well as in Australia and New Zealand. ACUTA holds three national seminars and one conference annually to provide educational sessions and promote networking among campus communications technology professionals.
