Chartwells donates more than 150 pounds of food

Chartwells at Fort Hays State University was recently able to donate more than 150 pounds of food to the Hays Community Assistance Center as a result of its Project Clean Plate promotion. The donation included holiday cookies, dry pastas, cereals and numerous canned goods.

Project Clean Plate encourages McMindes Residence Hall customers to take as much food as they like but to eat what they take. The dining hall saw a reduction in food consumption by as much as 13 pounds of food even in the first day.

The donation was generated from an average of poundage during the duration of the program.

Project Clean Plate is continuing during the spring semester.
