FHSU Tiger fans to meet to watch basketball game against KU

Alumni and friends of Fort Hays State University are invited to an evening of socializing and Tiger basketball on Nov. 9 as the FHSU men's basketball team takes on the University of Kansas Jayhawks.

The Lawrence Area Tiger Watch Party begins at 5:30 p.m. at the 75th Street Brewery, 3512 Clinton Parkway, in Lawrence. The game, televised on Jayhawk TV, begins at 7:05 p.m.

Advance registration -- required to ensure enough food and seating -- can be made by calling the FHSU Alumni Association office toll free at 1-888-351-3591.

The cost is $7.50 per person and includes hors d'oeuvres. A cash bar is available. Hosts are FHSU alumni Bonnie Lowe, (785) 842-1484, John and Deanell Tacha, (785) 843-7136, and Dr. Nancy Vogel, FHSU professor emerita, (785) 843-7148.

Special FHSU guests include Dr. Edward Hammond, FHSU president; Debra Prideaux, executive alumni director; Dr. Diane Scott, assistant vice president for student affairs, and Virgil Scott, president and CEO of the FHSU Endowment Association.

"It's just a chance for Tiger alumni and friends to enjoy some good, old-fashioned Tiger fun and maybe even win a special FHSU door prize," said Prideaux.

"If they are already going to the game, they can still stop by the party and get pumped up and show their Tiger pride," she said.
The FHSU Alumni Association, established in 1916, is dedicated to identifying and serving the needs of more than 38,000 graduates living throughout the United States and 61 foreign countries.
