Perniciaro named West Central Region first alternate in singing competition

Dr. Joe Perniciaro, assistant professor of music at Fort Hays State University, was named the West Central Region first alternate to the national semi-finals to be held on July 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Perniciaro won the 2010 Kansas National Association of Teachers of Singing competition on Feb. 20 and advanced to the regional competition in Hastings, Neb., where he was selected as an alternate to the national semi-finals.
