FHSU will host an exhibit for Schwieger's art

Fort Hays State University's Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art will host an exhibit of Robert Schwieger's works from Nov. 4 to Dec. 9.

After an opening reception on Friday, Nov. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m., the Schwieger Exhibition can be viewed in the Moss-Thorns Gallery from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in Rarick Hall, room 102.

Schwieger, professor of art at Nebraska Wesleyan University, is a nationally recognized artist who specializes in prints, drawings and mixed media on glass.

"His motivation and exploration is revealed in the artwork that he produces," said Leland Powers, chair of the FHSU Department of Art.

This will not be his first appearance at FHSU. He has shown his work in the 1975, 1977 and 1979 National Print, Painting and Drawing Exhibitions and was a visiting artist in 1992.

In addition to the exhibit, Schwieger will give a presentation about his work at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, in Rarick Hall, room 114.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception and to view the exhibit.
