Tech studies students team up with volunteers to provide children with toys

For the 20th year, technology studies students at Fort Hays State University and community volunteers will make wooden toys for the Toys for Tots program. The project this year is to make about 200 biplanes.

Manufacturing begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the woods laboratory in Davis Hall, room 150, on the FHSU campus.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Technology Studies, the Technology Education Collegiate Association, Epsilon Pi Tau and many Hays businesses and organizations.

"Volunteers from campus and the Hays community are invited to help sand, assemble and finish the toys," said Darlene Cole, secretary of the Department of Technology Studies.
