Brianne Fulton, Nevada, Mo., graduate student at Fort Hays State University, was picked as one of the 50 winners in the Functional and Sculptural Teapot Exhibition at JRB Art at The Elms, Oklahoma City, from Dec 5-27.
"My favorite part of making the teapot -- and in making my sculptures in general -- is making an idea corporeal; something tangible that can be accessed by the general public," Fulton said. "Since my teapot is figurative, I also enjoyed bringing the character to life."
The Elms, once a resident studio gallery, has been restored to its original purpose. It provides 4,500 square feet of exhibition space to JRB Art at The Elms.
"I'm excited to be in the exhibition. It's always gratifying to be considered for a show. It also always inspires me to work harder so that I continue to be considered for future submissions," Fulton said.
