Department of Music, Fringe Theatre prepare for fall musical

In an upbeat comedy about nuns experiencing crazy misfortunes and mishaps, Fort Hays State University's Fringe Theatre Company and the Department of Music will present their musical, "Nunsense" from Oct. 8-11 at Felten-Start Theatre in Malloy Hall on the FHSU campus.

The show features a group of nuns who are forced to raise money for 52 of their sisters' funerals because of an unfortunate food poisoning accident. After gathering enough money for 48 funerals, the nuns run out of funds and must find a creative way to raise the remainder of the money so they can bury the remaining four sisters.

They decide to put on a musical.

The stars are sophomore Vanessa North, Ellis; junior Jessica Ammel, CaƱon City, Colo.; seniors Stacey Rathert, Lancaster, and Trista Pruett, Ellinwood; and 2009 graduate Stefanie Stephens, Hays.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. from Oct. 8 to 10 and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 11. Ticket prices are $10 for students and $14 for the public. To purchase tickets, contact the Student Service Center at (785) 628-4225.
