Five winners of 2009 Alumni awards at Fort Hays State University, and the 2009 winner of the FHSU President's Award will meet with departments and students during homecoming celebrations Sept. 24-27.

Bruce, Pretty Prairie, graduated from FHSU in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political science. He is an attorney and state senator, will receive the Young Alumni Award.
12-1:15 p.m. Thomas Arnhold: Orientation to Political Science, Rarick Hall, Room 322
Arnhold, Hutchinson, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science in 1975 and went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the Washburn University Law School in 1978.
1:30-2:30 p.m. Dr. Julie Ballenger, reception, Albertson Hall, room 303
Ballenger, Ellerslie, Ga., graduated with a Masters of Science degree in botany in 1988. She earned her B.A. in biology from Central College, Pella, Iowa, in 1983 and her Ph.D. in botany from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1992.
2:15-3:15 p.m. Dr. Don Moses: A Ten-Point Lecture on the Performance of Music from the Classic Period, Malloy Hall, Palmer Recital Hall
Moses is the director and professor emeritus at the University of Illinois school of Music. He is also the founding director and conductor emeritus of the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria.
