Fort Hays State University’s Kansas Small Business Development Center will offer two tax workshops in three separate locations. The Small Business Tax and Contractor’s Tax workshops will be held in Colby, Great Bend, and Hays.
The workshops are sponsored by FHSU, KSBDC and the Kansas Department of Revenue. The Taxpayer Education Unit of the Kansas Department of Revenue will present.
Small Business Tax workshops will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. in Colby on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Thomas County Office Complex, 350 S. Range; in Great Bend on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, 1125 Williams; and in Hays on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Sternberg Museum.
Contractor workshops will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Colby on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Thomas County Office Complex, 350 S. Range; in Great Bend on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, 1125 Williams; and in Hays on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Sternberg Museum.
The Small Business Tax presentation will cover subjects concerning Kansas Retailers’ Sales Tax, Kansas Retailers’ Compensating Use Tax, Kansas Consumers’ Compensating Use Tax, goods and services subject to sales tax, record keeping and purchases with exemption certificates. It will also cover Kansas income tax withholding requirements, tax responsibilities, filing requirements and form preparation.
The contractor workshops will help clarify important topics for those in the construction, installation and similar businesses.
Registration for both workshops is $25, which will be collected at the workshops.
