'Fur'iously funny show coming to town
10/14/2005

A world-famous juggler is coming to Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, and he's bringing all of his pets.

The "Comedy and Pet Theatre starring Gregory Popovich" features eight dogs, 15 cats, birds and mice that Popovich has adopted from animal shelters and trained to entertain crowds. Popovich is no stranger to crowds, having performed for many years in the Great Moscow Circus Group.

Popovich combines his circus talents with the unique talents of each animal to create a one-of-a-kind show. The animals have been featured on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and have starred in television commercials.

Two performances are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, in Beach/Schmidt in Sheridan Hall on the Fort Hays State University campus. The first will be an hour-long, after-school show beginning at 4:30. The second, slightly longer performance begins at 7 p.m.

Reserved ticket prices for the first performance are $7 for the public; $6 for FHSU faculty and staff, those under 18 and senior citizens; and $5 for FHSU students. Unreserved tickets are $5 for the public; $4 for FHSU faculty and staff, those under 18 and senior citizens; and $3 for FHSU students.
