Riazi-Kermani to chair MACS department

Dr. Mohammad Riazi-Kermani, professor of mathematics and computer science at Fort Hays State University has accepted the position as the Math & Computer Science Department chair, replacing Dr. Ron Sandstrom who retired in June after 28 years at FHSU, 18 of which were as the MACS chair.

Riazi-Kermani received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University for Teacher Education in Tehran, Iran, in 1973. He received two master's degrees in mathematics, one from The Institute of Mathematics in Tehran in 1975, the other from Michigan State University, Lansing, in 1980. He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from Michigan State in 1984.

Riazi-Kermani began his FHSU career in August 1984 as an assistant professor of mathematics.
