The Fort Hays State University Marketing and Management Club donated a check for $2,567 to the 15th anniversary Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride during a stop to Doerfler's Harley-Davidson, Hays.

Members of the club raised the money through local businesses and their Buckey Burgers cookout, surpassing their goal of $2,500. The donation was to cover the cost of sending a chronically ill child to the Victory Junction Camp in North Carolina.

Celebrity appearances at Doerfler's included golf pro Davis Love III, broadcaster Robert D. Raiford, evangelist Franklin Graham and NASCAR racer Matt Kenseth.

Funds from the ride support Victory Junction, a camp for kids with chronic or special medical needs, and other children's charities.
