The Student Health Center at Fort Hays State University will be closed during this year's summer term, an acknowledgment of both the state budget crunch and the university's decision to restrict on-campus summer enrollment.
Lottie Porsi, university nurse, said alternative medical care will be available at three sites:
-- First Care Clinic, 105 W. 13th, Suite 5, (785) 623-6210.
-- Victoria Family Health Care, 208 Mark Wagner Road, Victoria, (785) 735-9721.
-- Hays Medical Center Emergency, 2220 Canterbury Drive, (785) 623-5000.
Students who need to have their Student Health Center medical records transmitted to their primary care providers may call (785) 628-4293.
"We just want to make sure that anybody who has used our services will know where to go to get help if they need it," said Porsi.
Porsi said that students who are concerned about having enough medication during the summer may call or go to the Student Health Center before school closes on Friday, May 15.
The center will close May 15 and will reopen for the fall semester on Aug. 17.
