Everyday activities of a business can be a time-consuming and often confusing process. To help reduce time spent filing documents, the Taxpayer Education Unit in the Kansas Department of Revenue and Fort Hays State University's Kansas Small Business Development Center are conducting two tax workshops each in Colby, Great Bend and Hays.
Each location will hold two workshops, an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. for small businesses and an evening session from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for general contractors. The workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, in Colby; Wednesday, April 29, in Hays; and Thursday, April 30, in Great Bend.
The workshops, which cover sales and withholding tax, are provided in partnership with the Kansas Small Business Development Center, the Colby and Thomas County Chambers of Commerce, the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, and the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce. Ron Grant from the Kansas Department of Revenue will be the presenter.
The cost is $20 in advance or $25 for late registration within five days of the event. Dates and locations for the session locations are listed below. The price is the same for all workshops.
In Colby, April 28, the workshops will be in the conference room of the Colby County Office Complex, 350 S. Range.
In Hays, April 29, the workshops will be at FHSU's Sternberg Museum of Natural History, 3000 Sternberg Drive.
In Great Bend, April 30, the workshops will be in the Golden Belt One-Stop Career Center, 1025 Main St.
