Resumes will be spell-checked and ties will be straightened as junior and senior education majors at Fort Hays State University get ready for the Teacher Career Fair which takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, April 20, in Gross Memorial Coliseum on the FHSU campus.
The fair brings together school administrators and potential employees from all over the nation and provides an efficient and economical way to assist employers looking for qualified candidates in all educational fields.
The fair provides candidates a one-stop opportunity to meet face to face with more than 35 school districts to initiate the application process. School districts will have booths set up where school personnel will be available to meet with candidates and provide information and materials about their schools.
"With the school districts facing tighter budgets, there will be more competition for teaching jobs this year," said Dan Rice, director of Career Services at FHSU. "The FHSU Teacher Career Fair provides an opportunity to make a positive first impression, without having to rely on a resume or other paperwork to make that positive first impression."
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the door. Pre-registration is not required.
